Character

Name

Shirabe's name, 調, means "melody" in Japanese. The official reading is しらべ.

Appearance

Shirabe has pale skin and red eyes. Her hair is silver, and even pulled up into twintails it reaches down to her waist. Her clothing is doll-like and mainly black. She wears a long-sleeved gray shirt with red trim and ruffled sleeves under a dark gray vest. Her headband and shirt collar have roses on them. On top of her shirt she wears a long black cape with a red collar and lining. Her top skirt has a red checkered pattern and balloons outwards. Underneath she wears two underskirts, one black and one white. Her tights are dark gray with a diamond pattern along the sides. She holds an electric guitar with an axe/scythe design.

Story

Shirabe is the main character of the Scarlet Cage Short Story (which can be read without unlocking her, and only requires her song Scarlet Cage).

Skill

Shirabe's unawakened skill is unlocked at Level 8, and grants a +5 Fragment bonus after playing a Conflict side song. This bonus is given before the FRAG multiplier is applied.

Her Awakened skill deducts a Fragment cost equal to the chart level after starting a chart (9+, 10+, and ? are treated as 9, 10, and 0 respectively), and rewards a +10 Fragments bonus if the score is EX grade or above regardless of chart level. The initial cost is subtracted again whenever restarting a chart from the results or pause screen (as of v3.1.0). The skill will still apply when playing songs in World Mode (as of v3.8.6).

Notes

Shirabe's stats are skewed towards FRAG. Due to the high amount of high level, high chart constant conflict songs in the game, Shirabe is an effective partner for Fragment farming. Like Eto, the bonus +5 fragments are added before the multiplierMobile: , and on average, will generally give more fragments than 90-95 FRAG partnersSwitch: . She is especially effective when a chart is cleared with a Full Recall or Pure Memory.

While the STEP stat is below average, the low STEP stat can be used for nailing the landing on a Stamina tile. Do keep in mind that the Fragment bonus is only applicable in normal play.

Awakened Shirabe's ability to deduct fragments can be alternatively used to easily fulfill the requirement of Tempestissimo's anomaly.

Trivia

• Shirabe's signature songs both contain shades of red. This matches her color scheme.
• Shirabe was initially a limited event partner, but was made permanently available along with her map from Jan 21st, 2022 (v3.11.2).
  • She is the second limited-time event partner to be made permanently available, the first being Sia.
• Shirabe is the first limited (at the time) non-collaboration Partner to receive an Awakening.
• During April Fools' Day 2021 (which introduced modifiable chart difficulty ratings), her Awakened skill's Fragment cost would depend on the chart's modified level (with ? incurring no cost).
