This page lists the backgrounds that appear behind the track during gameplay
Packs typically have their own backgrounds (one for Light side songs and one for Conflict side songs), with some songs receiving unique backgrounds. Certain backgrounds only appear under specific conditions when playing certain challenges.
Most backgrounds will exhibit a glowing effect for certain elements when above 70 Recollection Rate. This page only lists static base images.
Internal names are in sky blue for Light-side backgrounds, violet for Conflict-side backgrounds, and gray for Colorless-side backgrounds.
Generic Backgrounds[]
These are backgrounds intended for individual song packs.

Exclusive Backgrounds[]
These are backgrounds intended for individual songs, according to their names. Hikari & Tairitsu (Reunion)'s skill(s) do(es) not take effect in these songs/backgrounds.
Event Backgrounds[]
These are backgrounds that appear under certain conditions. Certain songs (Arcahv, Testify, and Arghena) feature animated backgrounds or other special effects under certain conditions. These are not included here.

**Before v3.12, byd_light and byd_conflict didn't have specific tracks. Instead, they used whatever track the song in question would normally use. (e.g. Playing a song that uses the mirai_dark background would use the black track and a song that uses the nijuusei_conflict_b background would use the dark_nijuusei track) However, this is no longer true, as Ignotus Afterburn [BYD], Red and Blue and Green [BYD], Singularity VVVIP [BYD], and overdead. [BYD] have byd_conflict as the default background. As of v4.1.0, byd_light still does not have a specific track.
MA Lines[]
These are tiled scrolling wall patterns that appear on either side of the track when playing certain songs.

- Both Kanae and Hikari & Tairitsu (Reunion)'s skills can affect which background is being used. See their pages for more information.
- Multiple backgrounds have been modified since their initial appearance to add or modify the dark triangle at the top of the background to make their appearance more consistent.
- v3.6.4: tanoc_light changed its triangle from light to dark coloured.
- v4.2.0: mirai_light, mirai_conflict, and lethaeus added dark triangles.
- v5.1.3: aterlbus, dynamix_light, dynamix_conflict, gc_light, gc_conflict, gc_ouroboros, shiawase, single_light, and single_conflict added dark triangles. gc_lance, quon, and tonesphere-solarsphere had their triangles changed from light to dark coloured. base_light, byd_conflict, finale_conflict, hime_conflict, lanota-conflict, nijuusei-light-b, nijuusei-conflict-b, nirvluce, vs_light, yugamu, and omatsuri_conflict received smaller modifications to the triangle's appearance or colour gradients.
- v5.2.0: vs_light changed its triangle from light to dark coloured.
- v5.2.6: omatsuri_light added a dark triangle. omatsuri_conflict received more changes to its triangle's border.
- Certain exclusive backgrounds that were intended for a single song (according to their internal names) were later repurposed for other songs in later updates. These backgrounds are listed in Misc Trivia.
- Certain generic backgrounds were only used for a single song on first release (some being deprecated in a later update). These are also listed in Misc Trivia.
